Testing

The final inspection and quality control is the last step of a series of intermediate "attentions" that every workpiece is subjected to. This can be carried out in an environmentally controlled standard room (metrologichal room) or after the final machining work… Or directly on a CNC machine trough probe Reninshaw, where thanks to the program installed, the machine can decide autonomously if the workpiece needs reworking. This system compensate the differences caused by the natural wearing of the cutting tool. The typical phases of the process are:

  • Machining of the workpiece.
  • Use of the Probe Reninshaw.
  • Inspection of all dimensions.
  • Where dimensions are out of tolerance the machine decides to rework the piece.
  • The finishing tool is used to rework the piece.
  • Further inspection of all the dimensions.
  • Acceptance of the workpiece.

This system is most effective where there is a number of identical parts with several dimensions, often complex, to be inspected. In avoiding to stop the machine, reset the part and control all the dimensions manually, there is a considerable time saving. This process

  • Reduces production costs
  • Eliminates additional fillings
  • Eliminates manual operations
  • Recognises the component to be reworked
  • Reduces repositioning time
  • Reduces inspection costs
